About the Line: CowParade has captured the hearts and imaginations of tens of millions of people around the world since the launch of "Cows on Parade" Chicago 1999. Featuring the ingenious works of over 2000 artists internationally, CowParade has brought art onto the sidewalks and plazas and into the parks and other public places of some of the most exciting cities in the world, including New York City, London, Tokyo, Las Vegas, Brussels and Prague. Along the way, the Cows have supported dozens of worthy causes around the world when, at the conclusion of each event, they are rounded up and sold at auction to the highest bidder.

Each CowParade event takes on the distinct character of the host city and its "udderly" unique artists. The big, beautiful, and universally beloved cows allow the artists to explore and celebrate their city's unique culture and history, while showing off the full extent of their creativity.

Art is about breaking down barriers, and that is the spirit of and common thread between each CowParade. The cows cause each of us to feel, to think, and to react. Children scamper around, under, and over there cows and, from their encounters with them, gain an appreciation of the creative energies with which they and each one of us are endowed. Most important, thought, they make each of us smile.
