Peter’s brightly tinted frog box figurine is based on tree frogs found in the world’s rainforests. Colourful creatures often use their vibrancy as a warning to predators to keep away. While Peter was researching this model, he learned that there is a word for it – Aposematic. Crypsis, on the other hand, describes creatures that blend in with their surroundings to hide from predators. The letters K.I.T.W are inscribed on this fixed edition box figurine and reference the eccentric artist Kit Williams, best known for an illustrated book containing clues to the whereabouts of a hidden golden hare. Peter still has his old copy. A recent radio programme about Kit’s life prompted him to go online and discover, once and for all, the secrets of the book.
