Monique Baldwin explores the symbolism of the mystical dragon with this box figurine. Dragons may stand for a wide array of characters, from water spirits to evil forces to benevolent guardians. An ancient symbol of balance was an animal, often a dragon or eagle, with one body and two heads one considered to be female and the other male. Thus, double-headed symbols represented completion and perfection and were often used for royalty. These many different symbolisms are expressed by Moniques two-headed dragon.
