Story: Taku has a special Christmas errand! Following the tribal custom of the young people taking care of the older people, Taku has been asked to bring the presents, cake and a little Christmas tree to her grandmother who lives alone at the edge of the village. Although the temperature in this icy, white land is 20 below zero today, Taku is toasty in the beautiful moose skin coat her grandmother embroidered for her. Taku's hands and feet stay warm and dry in mittens and boots made of the same water-resistant moose skin. Eagles and ravens soar overhead, and occasionally moose and wolf approach the outskirts of the village. Taku has taken along her friend, Bear, as companion and protection. Together they glide and slide over the icy tundra, singing songs and spreading Christmas cheer all the way to grandmother’s house.
