S e c r e t s:
The pangolin is a tree-dwelling South American mammal, covered with scales somewhat resembling an armadillo’s. Like the armadillo, the pangolin rolls itself into a tight ball to defend against predators. The pangolin spends its days eating termites with its ten-inch long tongue. One of the termites waves a white flag in surrender. Also found on the mound is 'No. 8,' which Peter Calvesbert chose at random for the termites’ house number. On the interior is the queen termite surrounded by a few of her many youngsters. The numbers '36K' and '50' refer to the queen’s ability to lay up to 36,000 eggs a day each day for 50 years. She has a book of baby names to aid her in naming that huge brood. Peter’s signature mouse is located in the bend of the pangolin’s tail. Limited to an edition of 4000 signed pieces worldwide (3600 Americas).
