It’s only 8 days until Christmas.
I know, I know, if you’ve watched any tv, listened to any radio, or checked your e-mail, snail mail, twitter, instagram, pinterest or facebook you probably already know this. You’ve probably heard it in multiple ways, both cute and annoying, but for me this has been a slow realization this year. Maybe it’s the fact that last week we were running around in t-shirts and 70 degree weather. Maybe it’s the fact that with some stores starting to advertize Christmas in July it never seems like the time is now.
Whatever it is, it just hasn’t felt like Christmas to me.
Today I spent the afternoon decorating our tree while listening to Christmas Carols. Tonight I’m going to see a production of A Wonderful Life and I set the dvr for White Christmas. I guess it’s finally time to realize that we’re only 8 days away from Christmas. The most wonderful time of the year is really here!
Wait a minute. It’s only 8 days until Christmas! *panic sets in*
Sooo ... I guess this means I need to get to my Christmas shopping.

Family, friends, teachers, hair stylists, bosses, secretaries, dog walker, house keeper, neighbor, mail carrier, piano teacher, babysitter, dance teacher, coach, host or hostess, and anyone else you want to treat this time of year? Did you remember stocking stuffers, too? Now's the time to do that final list check. I'll wait. *humming something cheerfully holidayish* Are you done? Did you check it twice, because that always seems to work for the jolly guy.
