Secrets:

Long-legged, long-necked creatures don’t lend themselves well to the Harmony Kingdom box figurine format. With a 6 foot long neck and legs of a similar length, giraffes, the tallest of all land-living animal species, are able to peak into second-story windows without having to stand on tiptoes! So when Peter decided it was time to carve another giraffe, a workable composition at first eluded him. Knowing that giraffes are social animals, and learning that they take part in neck wrestling matches to show authority in their herds, an idea presented itself – giraffes playing Twister! And because they have one of the shortest sleep requirements of any animal, between 4-6 hours daily in 5-35 minute increments, they have plenty of time to play. The inscription, “Giraffa camelopardalis”, came from an early description of the animal when it was said to look like a cross between a leopard and a camel. The other inscriptions refer to the game of Twister. “Sex in a box” was how it was described when launched in 1966. “4160” is the record for the largest number of contestants in a single Twister game, taking place in 1987 at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Opening the lid of this fixed edition of 300 reveals a spinning arrow, used in the game.
