Jim Shore Woodland Gnome with Birdhouse Ornament
I have a sneaking suspicion that if you wandered far enough into an enchanted forest, you'd eventually stumble across a little gnome village.
There would be tiny houses tucked into tree roots, mushrooms growing in all the right places, and probably a very complicated system of woodland neighborhood politics.
And this fellow?
I'm pretty sure he's the president of the birdhouse association.
Look at him! He's got a cardinal perched on his hand, another one sitting on top of a rather fancy birch birdhouse, and he looks very pleased with the whole arrangement.
Although I'm not entirely sure how the birds feel about having a landlord.
I love the softer, wintery colors of Jim Shore's White Woodland Collection. Instead of the usual bright Christmas reds and greens, this little fellow is all creamy whites, gentle greens, and beautiful carved-looking folk art patterns. And those little pops of cardinal red are just lovely.
There's also something especially sweet about cardinals at Christmastime. For many people, they're a reminder of loved ones who are no longer with us, a little flash of red that brings comfort and makes us smile.
So while I may be imagining this gnome attending very serious birdhouse association meetings, I also think there's something quietly wonderful about him.
A little whimsy, a little winter magic, and a couple of feathered friends.

Jules Says: I like to think this little gnome spends his mornings filling bird feeders, chatting with the cardinals, and politely asking the squirrels to stop stealing everything. The squirrels, naturally, ignore him completely. ❤️
