From George Carruth:

I recently bought a plump antique rolling pin and carved a grumpy face into it. Friends who saw it suggest a cast stone version, so, here it is. The grumpy face seemed appropriate for a tool that flattens dough, pastries or anything else in its path. There are no mild mannered rolling pins, only brutes like Mr. Sourdough.

Welcome to Carruth Studio and artist George Carruth. ̴ While on a rare vacation, Jules (that's me!) and momager Jill were wandering shops - because you can take the girls out of the gift shop, but you can't take the gift shop out of the girls - and happened upon this fantastic line. ̴ With whimsical fruits, veggies, animals, and faces in absolutely anything and everything, they immediately caught our eyes. ̴ The day after we got home I placed my first order and I'm so very glad I did. ̴ I hope you'll enjoy these gorgeous stone sculptures as much as we do!

Here are a few FAQ and Answers from Carruth to help you get a better picture of what they are.

What is the product made of?̴
George's work is hand cast in stone, actually the same stone/concrete that is used to build bridges, so it is very weather resistant.

How does it hang?̴ ̴
We use aeronautical wire imbedded in the stone. The same wire that was used on the space shuttle. We tried to break it, and could not!

Can it be left outdoors in the winter?̴
Let's just say yes. We have had our birdbath outdoors under a downspout in Ohio winters for 25 years. Having said that, if you leave a piece outdoors in winters like Ohio, and let's say you lay it down so water can pool in the image, it is possible that ice will break the design. So, if hung properly, all should be just fine.

Do I need to put a sealer on the product?̴ ̴
Nope.

Are they awesome?̴ ̴
Yep. ̴

(Okay, that last one was mine, but it's true!) ̴ :)
