The Longaberger Company introduced the Poinsettia Basket during its 1988 Holiday Campaign. The poinsettia, with its scarlet bloom forming a glorious star, has become the best-known flower of the winter holiday season. Brought from Mexico in the mid-1820's by Ambassador Joel Poinsett, the poinsettia is often called the Flower of the Holy Night. Its presence in homes at Christmas symbolizes the true spirit of giving.
Purchased as part of a collection from a former collector, this piece has never been displayed and is in perfect condition with the original box. The outer box does show some slight sun damage and wear.
