Let the light shine

Posted by Jill Klein Rone

Let the light shine

Well, a lot has happened since the last time i wrote a blog post.  It was just 5 days before the big fall!  You know, it's a really good thing to learn to do things with your non dominate hand, like write, brush your hair and teeth, scratch your...whatever needs scratching.  You get the idea.  And it's good for your brain, too! I am so much smarter now ;-)
I missed being here, among the sparkles and laughter. I needed the light and good energy generated by Jules and her family of friends and supporters.  People who come for a gift for a friend, and leave with that and the gift of laughter and well being. With all the clouds, rain and otherwise, it's been kind of dark and dreary.  A trip to Jules might be just what the doctor ordered, a bright spot, full of love, light & laughter.  Come see us, and if you don't leave feeling a little lighter well then....hmmm.... i just don't know what to say, cause i can't imagine that happening!  Maybe i'm not smarter....
Oh, and if you've been keeping up.... have you?  You know that there's all sorts of new stuff to tickle your fancy and shiver your timbers - amusing mugs, pontificating pencils, chihuly inspired chimes (not really, couldn't come up with another "ch" sound), soporific soap (not really, look it up, and you'll be smarter, too ;-))  I should probably stop now and simply say new stuff is good stuff! Not as poetic, but totally true!!
Enjoy the rain, y'all.  Might as well, right?  And keep smiling!!! :-)
Be well & happy, Jill  (aka the Momager)

What an ...interesting Spring it's been!

What an ...interesting Spring it's been!

Hi ya'll!

I hope wherever you are you're enjoying this Spring.  I think Mother Nature may need to check her meds as it's been warm, it's been cold, there's been a lot of rain, and sometimes all of that has been in the same hour!

Elaine and I are hitting the festival circuit - we'll be in Warrenton, VA this Saturday for their Spring Festival, hope to see you there! - and we're having a great time taking our Jules on the road.

For those of you following along at home, the fabulous Momager is thankfully now back at work.  After a fall on the stupid ice in February that resulted in a broken wrist and surgery to fix...

She's back in arm wrestling shape and going strong these days.

So this is why there maaaaaaybe haven't been as many blog posts recently as there should have been.  I'd say things will get better now, but I'd hate to lie in my first blog post in a while.  ;)

Know that even if the blog maybe isn't getting updated as often as I'd like, that we're always here, happy to help in any way we can.  Also, check out our facebook and instagram accounts that I do update a little more often.  lol

Hope you guys are all having a calmer spring than we are, and may you never live in "interesting" times.  :D

Thanks for sticking with us!

~ Jules

The CALENDAR says it's Spring ...

The CALENDAR says it's Spring ...

Pretty sure the calendar LIES!
On the fi-iirst day of Spr-ing Mother Nature gave to us ...
14" of Snow and a Robin wondering what the heck was going on ....
We've thankfully dug out now and back to business as usual, but I don't think I'll be wearing a sundress on Easter this year!  LOL
Speaking of Easter ... (see that graceful transition?  I'm super subtle!)  there is still time to place your Easter orders for delivery in time.  If it's in stock, it'll ship right out.
After all, everyone gets candy in their Easter basket ... but these goodies won't get eaten before the day is out!
Treat yourself for Spring.  You deserve it.  *firm nod*
(Because I said so.)  ;)

Happy Groundhog's Day from the Momager

Posted by Jill Klein Rone

Hi Everyone,

It's Jill, the Momager, doing my duty... I mean i'm working today, in the shop, and it's kind of lonely in here, so if you're out and about.... just saying.  Hey, did you know tomorrow is Groundhog's Day?  And being the conscientious employee that I am, when Jules asked i answered. She charged me with thinking of a great Groundhog's Day special, and what could be more special than auctioning off a groundhog?  No?  Jules didn't think it was such a good idea, either.   Maybe if we treated them with a little respect, more than one day a year, they would leave our gardens and plants alone!  They really are pretty smart, you know.  I mean, do you see any groundhogs around this time of year?  No! They all went south for the winter! If you consider "down" south, which it is on a map, right? I had this other idea, too.... Hi Everyone, It's Jill, the Momager, doing my duty..... I mean I'm working today, in the shop, and it's kind of lonely in here, so if you're out and about....just saying. Hey, did you know tomorrow is Groundhog's Day?  So i guess my other idea was too involved, or evolved, it required a calendar and lots of flipping, flopping or flapping.  I got confused because Jules just kept saying, "No, no, no!"  And how do you think that made me feel? Actually, pretty good.  We laughed a lot. It really is the best medicine.... Hi Everyone, It's Jill, the Momager, doing my duty.... I mean I'm working today, in the shop and it's kind of lonely in here, so if you're out and about.... someone really has to stop me!  Hey, did you know that tomorrow is Groundhog's Day???

Oh January, You Cold Witch, You.

Posted by Jules Happy Rone in Make Someone Smile

Ugh.  It's cold.  It's dark way too early.  All I want to do is crawl in to bed and nap until spring.  Hey, if bears can hibernate, why can't I?  Why does January give me such a case of the whinies?  Oh, right, for all of the reasons I just listed!  lol

What gives you a boost when you need one?  Seeing a sparkle in the window?  Wearing fun socks?  Drinking from a fabulous mug?  Playing with finger puppets?  Making yourself some hot tea?  We can't make it not be cold and windy and dreary January, but we might be able to help with a few of those.  We hope they'll make you smile, too.

When was the last time someone did you a random act of kindness?  How did it make you feel?

Who do you know that could really use a pick-me-up?

Just a little something to show you're thinking of them.  Making someone smile sometimes makes all the difference.

Especially in January.
